For the price you cannot find a better trekking pole
Did my first hike with these trekking poles a day after I bought them. An 8 mile hike at Guadalupe Mountains National Park. For the price you cannot find a better trekking pole. The cork handles are of good quality and the foam grips just below, make it easy for quick grip adjustments without having to adjust the length of the pole constantly for various terrain. The poles did not slip under the weight of my 250 pound body. The rubber monster tips stay firm to the trekking pole and did not slip off, though often getting hung up between rocks. I do not use the tungsten tips as, I have found out here in the desert they never last to long on hiking poles. These poles handled my ascent and descent without any problems and felt very stable. The only downside is, I would have liked the hand straps to have a little more cushion. But that is a minor complaint. The price dropped $5 a day or two after I bought them so be sure to check the price as it will fluctuate. A well made trekking pole that I think is well worth the money spent.

Amazing sticks! Helps me a ton with a bad leg/back!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. --Pros & Cons by Acid--Pros::. Very light weight! They look great! Came with multiple feet to tackle different types of terrains! The cork handle feels great, the first time I used them I felt a little warmth from them but since then it's been fine and always felt good and cool. The straps are high quality and nice and thick. I've never had these sticks collaps on me, not once. You do have to be careful when tightening plastic and metal pieces down because one tightening to far and you'll strip the plastic piece, so simply be careful! Always remember your sticks should be adjusted with your elbow against your side, hold hand straight so your arm is in a 90' angle. Adjust the sticks equally to this height and you'll experience maximum performance out of these sticks!Even my daughter was able to use these sticks correctly with them fully collapsed, so that's awesome!Cons::. Wish I had a second pair! Possibly a pair that came in women's color sets so the wife could have a fancy set like this one!Overall::. I would buy this again! I have a very bad back and left leg and being able to climb a few thousand feet with the help of these sticks is just amazing. Really takes the strain off my leg and I can appreciate that! So buy these and check em out if you really want some nice light weight sticks to start your Trekking career off right!

Handle Separated from Pole
We purchased two pairs of these hiking poles to hike in the CA Sierra Nevada mountain range. After hiking about 10 miles, the cork handle in one pair separated completely from the pole so that it slid loosely up and down the pole; the other cork handle in the pair separated slightly revealing a gap between the top of the cork and the the plastic end of the pole. After returning from our trip, we contacted the seller, who told us some of the poles were manufactured with insufficient contact cement between the handle and pole. The representative asked us to apply contact cement to see if that would fix the problem. We purchased contact cement and followed the seller's instructions. However, we are planning a 65 mile hike in Sawtooth Mountain Range, Idaho, and we are concerned the poles may come apart on the trail. Also, where the wrist strap attaches to the pole is a loose end that gets in the way like a pesky tail you don't know what to do with. Other than the handle and strap issues, the poles are sturdy, securely locking and comfortable. The seller promptly responded to our email.

These poles are very well made. The locks hold. I have had no issues with it. On Amazon.com they are listed as aluminum hiking poles, however in the customer service emails that I have received from Alpine Summit, they refer to them as carbon fiber hiking poles. I am impressed with the follow up after ordering, by Alpine Summit and with the quality of the poles and the various attachments that come with them.

Great design, light weight, stylish
I am new to hiking/backpacking so I don't have anything to compare these trekking poles to, but they seem great! They have a very nice design with vibrant colors (I chose pink and my boyfriend bought the blue). I didn't think we would need walking sticks (was being prideful) but after practicing on some trails and for a marathon, my joints could use some support. I haven't used them yet (hiking to Havasupai in a couple weeks), but I made sure everything was in working order and tested them out around the house. I really like the flip locking system, they stay secure and they are quick and easy to adjust to the length you want them. I am 4'11 and have very small hands so I was worried about the grips not fitting well in my hand, but they are very comfortable and the cork is light weight and feels nice. The "monster grip tip" and the hard surfaces tips are made of rubber (I think) and are strong and sturdy. I read other reviews of plastic tips that broke immediately so I feel comfortable that these tips will hold up in the rocky terrain of the Arizona desert. I can't wait to use them!

Adjusts easily
Easily adjusted to my height and are holding well. Excellent for my needs. I'm an older woman with a bad back and need the support while getting needed exercise.
