Village Green Ready to Use Wood Stain - Wood Dye - 28 Colours - Super High Pigment Content Water Based (250ml, Light Oak)

Pretty happy with the result - a nice grey colour with a hint of brown. Very easy to apply, and to wash up after.It's quite thin, so a little goes a long way - I'd recommend doing several light coats rather than slapping loads on at once.I think it will need a protective clear coat or probably will get scuffed easily.Also, don't panic when you're apply it - mine looked almost purple and I was a bit concerned, but it dried a lovely shade.

This is very thin and item you are working on will need two coats. However, it has given a lovely finish and I am delighted with the results. It is important to prepare the wood properly and get rid of any old varnish. I didn't do this as well as I should have done but it has still covered ok and I really love the two tone effect it gives of the grey colour with wood showing through. I put a clear wax on once dry just to protect it, as the instructions suggested..In my view an excellent product and good value with clear instructions.

Initially I didn't like this. I tried it on the underside of the table (unsanded and unprepped) and it looked like paint rather than stain - a dull thick grey. But when I used it on the properly sanded prepped table top it was a lovely colour. Other reviewers say it's thin - it is, but that's the nature of stain. It's not meant to be paint. If you want it dark and thick you'll need to use a lot, but if you want a nice grey stain, with the different wood tones coming through then this is good stuff

This product is easy to apply and delivers a great finish. My only criticism is the colour was nothing like ‘mushroom’ and was more like grey. I appreciate the wood underneath can influence the colour, but this really was grey!

Brilliant - fitting a new oak staircase- product easy to use with either brush if cloth. Goes on easily and washes off hands easily. Dries within an hour and colour excellent

This is my new favourite wood stain.It comes in a bottle ready to pour and is the same consistency as water, but its water based so what else would you expect?It goes on easy and the wood soaked it up quickly. I was worried it was quite dark but after leaving it to dry for an hour, the colour was right.I will be buying more colours and considering purchasing the outdoor stain.

I used it on a bare piece of tulip wood which had been pelleted by a joiner. Where the pellets had been put in, the wood had taken in some glue, stain would not penetrate on thise areas so it looked awful. I decided I would have to paint over it. I applied primer but it would not dry even though I left it for 3 days. I have spent ALL day today scraping it off and I'm only half way through. I have sanded down a small sample area and then wiped with white spirit. Only then will paint adhere. Hours and hours of additional work. I will never ever buy another product from this company. I wish I had never bought it.

This is a really beautiful stain. I would say that the colour in the picture is accurate to the end result.We used it on our floors and found a little goes a long way. We did two coats; the first would have been absolutely fine, but we wanted a deeper colour, and to ensure that the colour was an even as possible on our mixture of older floor boards. We have more than enough left over to do another two rooms.The stain was easy to apply, the instructions we're easy to understand. We actually used a mixture of cloths and brushes to get the desired effect and it worked great with both. We've then topped it with a satin varnish to protect it; the stain looks rich underneath and we couldn't be more pleased.We would recommend, and not hesitate to buy this colour/brand again.
