If you like your hair to look natural, feel soft, and can handle the smell this would be a fantastic clay. However, the scent is so strong that you inhale it the entire rest of the day and being I work in healthcare where scented products aren’t allowed this was designated to weekends. The smell is rather pleasant but noticed after a few weeks that every single time after wearing it there would be the onset of a headache, which has happened once before with a certain cologne but never a hair clay. If they would tone back the scent so one could smell it in the jar but not after application it could be used by a larger section of the population. It’s thick and sticky, not hard to swipe out of the jar but you can see by the picture that it doesn’t spread all that well. Tried adding water when spreading and it just clumps up like wax, which is probably why it takes a good shampoo to get out. Due to the stickiness it it’s best applied to towel damp hair. If you can handle the strong smell, it’d be a 4/5 clay, it’s just too overpowering for me.

I love this water-based styling clay. It gives me surprisingly great hold even when using small amounts. It ends up looking like I don't have any product in my hair at all. Just make sure to only get a dime-size portion and thoroughly rub your hands together until it's completely transparent. This clay is also amazing for 2nd day hair when I'm not washing it. I can reshape easily and use a tiny bit of extra clay to reinforce any loosened areas.The oil-based clays I've used can easily start to look greasy which isn't the look I want. Supposedly oil-based clays can have longer lasting hold, but with this clay my style easily lasts all day with only a small amount of hair spray around the hairline where loose hairs might fall out.This clay has the most grip on totally dry hair without any serums that add slickness to the hair. I used to apply an anti-frizz serum before styling, but that took away the grip of the clay and typically meant I used more of it which ended up looking less natural. Now I'll use a shine spray as the very last step to get the look I want.

This Product does really well as a water-based clay in my personal humble opinion. The reason why I say this is because I have literally tried other water-based clays because they have not worked for my hair type which is thick and straight. This clay, in particular, does what it says it is going to do which is actually the case. The hold in my hair lasts at least up to eight to nine hours which is a good thing and the finish is matte. One last thing I actually like the scent on this which is actually citrus lemon mixed with a masculine cologne which makes this product unique. The washout on this product is super easy and when popping in the shower the product would automatically washout with just water by itself I would recommend this product to anyone who is struggling to keep their hair up all day for all hair types.

Have seen so good reviews about it, and thinking, hey this must be sponsored reviews, but oh man, I really love it. It has a healthy low shine, gives volume, adds texture, holds your hair in place, and smells amazing.

Didnt work for my hair type. Gave it 3 stars b/c clearly it's worked for other people so I can't bash a product just b/c it doesnt work for me. Didnt like it because it smelled really bad, hard to wash off, and for my hair type was pretty hard to work in and style( fine/straight hair). Hopefully this helps someone make a decision on whether or not to purchase this.

Everything about this product is perfect and the smell is AMAZING!!!!! If I could find this scent in a cologne, I’d purchase it in a heartbeat.

Applying to medium length hair with a light prestyler.Scent: Very spicy. Christmas spices.Texture: Waxy clay. Very thick.Application: Thick and a bit tough to emulsify in the hands. A bit sticky during application.Styling: Pretty responsive, but you have to work quickly.Finish: Very high hold. Fairly low shine, but not matte.

Clutch has become my gold-standard clay - I try many many products, and since I first tried Clutch, no other clay has truly measured up to it. This clay is unique in that it has a creamy, slightly waxy feel in the hands, but it applies and performs in all the ways you would expect from a clay. It goes in smoothly and leaves you with an incredible texture, firm but lightweight hold that lasts all day (and even still looks good on day 2 after sleeping on it!), a matte finish that isn't too dry looking but also doesn't get oily-looking over time, and pliability that makes it easy to restyle all day long without losing out on hold. Not to mention the scent on this product is absolutely unreal! Hands down my favorite clay.
