Vintage style up dos
I really like these. I twist my fringe, hold it against my head, and then slide the grip essentially in the opposite direction underneath so it catches and holds my hair tress firm in the little hoop. It holds quite well with hair spray and they look adorable! I have fine hair and they work for me.

Didn't live up to expectations
Was looking forward to using these pins but was sadly disappointed.I read the mixed reviews and took a chance as the positives mostly mentioned they work well for thick hair. Not the case for me sadly.I tried a couple of styles and they just didn't hold. I tried a simple bun today following the instructions on the back of the pack (to make sure I was usbing them correctly) I used 2 pins and the bun had dropped out within half an hour. Reset it and it dropped out instantlyBack to the Bobby pins for me!

Not good for fine hair
My hair is fine and they won’t stay in. Very good quality and value for money for thicker or coarser hair .

Work brilliantly for my hair
I have waist-length thick hair and have used U-shaped plastic tortoiseshell hair pins for years because metal ones don’t cut it for me.I was initially disappointed that these pins are relatively small, but in fact they work really well. The extra inner pieces create a tight grip, meaning the pins are very unlikely to slip out.I need to use most of the packet to keep a plaited bun in place all day, but my hair didn’t move. Also great if you like to wear your hair in milkmaid plaits over the top of your head. They’re small enough not to peek out.

Good to experiment with
If you are like me and want to experiment to see if the higher end, branded version of these plastic hairpins will work for you, these are a good option. It's helpful to see whether this style of pin will hold your hair or whether you actually like wearing your hair in the styles for which they are best suited. I'm reasonably happy with the success of my trial runs - although I can see how they won't necessarily be the first thing I reach for every time I want to put up my hair. They certainly work as shown with the FF brand on social media - but it is important that you are willing to twist the pieces of hair that you are trying to hold back into "ropes" in order for the "head" of the pin to have a good chunk of hair to hold onto. I find that this has its limitations in hairstyles. As for the french twist style, I had good success using several pins as shown. I suspect that these plastic pins are a different type of plastic to the expensive ones. Whether this proves an advantage (more flexibility, less prone to breaking) or whether the higher end pins are stiffer and therefore hold smaller amounts of hair - I can't say. But I could see how these could eventually stretch and lose hold altogther (and they would definitely be prone to break as well, if opened up too wide.) As for value for money, whilst 10 of these costs less than half the price of 3 FF pins, they are still costly enough after adding shipping - I imagine if you could get them in the U.S. they would be very inexpensive indeed. Still, they're a relatively risk free buy if you want to see what styles you can achieve with this type of pin. Not as pretty as the social media ones but do the job most of the time.

Easy to break, not good with thick hair.
The media could not be loaded. Cheaper alternative to what you’ve seen on target Instagram adds and the price reflects it. I’ve snapped quite a few of these with thick hair. I succumbed to Instagram and the ones on there are far better and hold my hair better. They’re also bigger so work better for thicker hair. These ones are smaller and flimsy.

Ideal for fine hair.
The pack lasts me a year as they aren't as sturdy as some but the thicker clips don't really work for fine hair. They are easy to clip in and they stay put all day.

Worth it
These are great. I bought a more expensive brand previously and they broke. These do the same job but you get way more for your money. There is a knack to using them, I have normal, bleached hair and they work for me. You might just need some instruction on using them but totally worth it.
