Typically it takes longer to mix properly than it does to use, and that was still no guarantee that it would adhere well to the mat you had selected. Well, those problems are history, thanks to Smart Lace by Madame Loulou! Firstly, set up time is mere seconds, just open and use. Secondly, it was formulated to work with any silicone mat, no matter how much you paid for it. Simply spread the Smart Lace over the mat, return any excess to the container and let dry, and it's done. You won't even need to hold your breath as you are removing it from the mold! It works, every time, removing the limits that lace decor had presented to your creativity. Speaking of creativity, why not go wild without a silicone mold? Spread some on a silicone mat, and once it has dried you have a totally pliable "sugar sheet fabric" that you can use to cut out doll clothes or to make a shimmering water feature for your competition cake. But why stop there, just add some Smart Lace to a piping bag and get really creative. Use your tools to modify your designs or make them extra shear, and once they have dried apply them however and wherever you like. And, they are completely edible! This is a fantastic and convenient product! I would recommend it!
I used Madame Loulou's Smart Lace for some gothic themed wedding cookies. I was fortunate enough to find and purchase 4 large lace silicone mats at an incredible low price from Anyana (set of 4 huge 15.5" sugar edible cake silicone fondant impression lace mats). The Smart Lace and the mats sold by Anyana worked perfectly together. The Smart Lace was easy to use and came off the mats without effort. I would recommend Madame Loulou's Smart Lace. Plus, I ordered the black and white smart lace and Madame Loulou's sent me a container of red lace and some black fondant!!!!! THANK YOU MADAME LOULOU!!

Tastes sour and doesn
While this was fine to work with and it retains its flexibility, the taste is horrible and very sour. It also does not adhere as nicely as the other edible lace products I have used.

It is excellent, & a lifesaver
It is excellent, & a lifesaver! There were problems with my original shipment, & it vanished into thin air. Both Amazon & the owners of Madame Loulou were FABULOUS in taking care of me, getting me my order, & even including some samples of their wonderful fondant as well. The black lace in particular is awesome, & so shiny! I made the musical notes & decor on the cake attached with the black lace, & it dries in half the time of other brands as well!
