Excellent customer service, great poles
I used those poles for 2 weeks of extensive hiking (over 200 km) in the canadian rockies. They did a great job in all aspects, light, confortable, easy and convenient locking sytems.I have to admit some unfortunate event happened though, a small fall and one of the pole got bent at right angle. Seems like it's better not to fall too much with them. Nonetheless I mentionned it to the customer service and they proposed to send a replacement of any of their brands. What's what I call a great customer service. I hope that new pair will give me long time of hiking fun.Thank you Snowy Mountain Traders!

Great poles, very durable
They are my first poles, so I don't have a comparison. But I hiked with them for 14 hours straight, up and down hill through boulders and rocks last weekend, and they performed Great! I love the easy adjustment snaps and the cork handles. In this hot Texas sweaty weather the handles were great and the cork helped to never let me lose my grip!

Good experience for first time user
Sturdy and lightweight. Used only once so far but they were very functional and helped with Rocky and steep sections of the trail. Adjusting height and collapsing for storage is easy with the locking mechanisms and markings indicating height. I am new to using trekking poles and felt I could go farther than usual on the difficult footing on some trails.

they worked out great. There were 2 issues I had
I used these for a Dall Sheep hunt in Alaska. It was very steep, rocky terrain. They saved me from falling several times! Once I realized that the screw part has to be tightened while the adjustment lever is open, they worked out great. There were 2 issues I had: the standard rubber tips fell off 2 of the 4 poles we had in our trip. I suffered one fall and one of the poles became lodged behind a rock - it bent and broke completely. Aside from these issues, these were great poles for the price and I felt I definitely got my money's worth.

Hard to beat the value
These are light and easy to adjust, which makes them very versatile for everything from day hikes to backpacking overnights. The wrist straps are not padded, but the fabric is very smooth and doesn't bother my skin on long hikes. Since I use these in snow on occasion, it's great to be able to filly disassemble all three pieces and leave them to dry overnight, ensuring no moisture gets trapped. It's definitely possible to get nicer poles, but these are very hard to beat for the price I paid, and they've survived everything from snowshoe trips in Vermont to 14,000-foot peaks in the rockies.

I live near the Appalachian Trail and after many leg/knee injuries I need these to enjoy the trail
I haven't used these yet - just got them. I live near the Appalachian Trail and after many leg/knee injuries I need these to enjoy the trail. I look forward to using them soon. Also, they will come in very handy this winter. With bad knees I need the stability these will give when walking on ice and snow. I'll send in a review after using them a few times. They seem very sturdy and very easy to adjust. Update: I've been using these for a year or more. They are fabulous. I couldn't hike the steep downhills without them. They've gotten heavy use with no problems or defects. Very sturdy!

Great Poles
We got a second pair because one pole each wasn't cutting it. We had the opportunity to take several desert mountain hikes in January and February and never had a problem with the poles. The locking mechanism never failed us and we were adjusting them fairly often on the hikes depending on whether we were going up or down. I know there are lighter poles, but these still seem light and very sturdy. I'm a little over 200 lbs and on occasion confidently could put my full weight on them. Make sure you have the locking mechanism adjusted so it is very tight. I lost one and was going back to order another pair when we decided to call the park and a Park Ranger had found it. I would buy a third pair if necessary.
