I'm 62 and not what you would call an active athlete. I recently bought the Iconic, primarily to monitor my heart rate, sleep cycle, steps and to receive notifications. The band that comes with the Iconic is nice if you sweat a lot, but I wanted something a bit more stylish. I also dislike having to struggle with taking the band on and off with the typical strap. I thought the silver stainless band would look best, but one reviewer noted that the Iconic and SS band were slightly different shades of silver and clashed a bit. I chose the black band instead and I'm glad I did. It looks perfect against the dark face of the Iconic with the silver in between. I had to remove two links from each side of the band which was painless. The tool provided worked great to pop the pins out of the links. You'll need a pair of needle nose pliers to yank the pin completely out of the link. You can also use the side of the pliers to tap the pin back in, using the provided pin tool to seat the pin the final 1/16". After wearing the watch for a couple days it felt a little too restrictive. It wasn't tight on my wrist but didn't float around as my other watches typically did. So, I added one link back to one side, which was again a painless task. In less than five minutes the watch was back on my wrist. This band is heavy as any metal band would be. But I am used to wearing large watches with stainless bands, so it feels very natural to me. When you spin your wrist around, you can see the silver pins between the links which add to that silver/black look. I had to remove and reattach the band from the watch face several times as I was removing and then adding a link. Each time it snapped right out and back in without any effort. The band feels very secure on the watch. It's been on my wrist for 10 days, except when showering and for two charge cycles (I love the battery in the Iconic-5+ days). Slides right off with a simple click of the latch. No irritation, no excess sweat under the band, no accidental disconnects or the band opening. It's been perfect... especially considering the price. Highly recommended. I may get another as a spare, although I suspect this band will last as long as the watch.

I love that this came with the ability to adjust the length. Have worn this for a couple months at this point, i'm very surprised that it has no scratches or abrasions in the color already! Not a single scrath... I'm very impressed

Sub par band. Links are loose with a lot of give. Not many options for steel ionic bands. I have an oittm band for Apple Watch and it’s 100 pct better than this
