The Lion King: Pride Rock on Broadway

I had seen TV clips advertising the Broadway version of The Lion King for several years and was intrigued, but I didn't get to see a live production until 2014. I was fascinated by the opening ten minutes and never suspected there was anything like the puppets used -- fifteen-foot-tall giraffes, leaping gazelles, amazingly lifelike prowling cheetahs, a lumbering elephant -- not to mention the lion masks (one is featured on the cover). The next morning I came to Amazon looking for more information in the "How did they DO that?" category and found this mesmerizing book. Unlike anything else I've ever seen, and much more amazing than the Rock-Em-Sock-Em computer-generated special effects that dominate movies, the play left me in awe of the creative imagination behind it; and this book gives you an in-depth glimpse of how the magic came to be. WOW!

Wonderful BTS book with fantastic photographs!!!

I'm 11 years young. I LOVED this book. the lion king has my favorite soundtrack, my role model and my favorite musical. This book explained how the whole broadway theatre production came together. I thought it was fascinating! I would really recommend this book. I could not put it down. I promise you! YOU WILL LOVE IT! Best book I ever read. The lion King: Pride Rock on Broadway. (((((((:

I have seen the musical The Lion King when it came to my hometown and I thoroughly enjoyed it Ever since I bought the book on the making of Beauty and the Beast, I have been trying to find this book, because I wanted to see the making of the Lion King, especially the masks used for the different characters. I'm glad I finally found it.
