My Father-in-law needed new lanterns so he asked us if we could order these. At first I was unsure about the LED being bright enough or covering a good enough area. But man I was surprised to see these on at night. They are much brighter than we originally anticipated! Like the God Zeus packed 10,000 lightning bolts in each LED before mounting together with 10 others in this lantern. Installation was very easy and only took 45 minutes for three lanterns. Even the under developed hands of my newborn child could easily put up these magnificent beams of light sent from the gods! The look and finish is very nice like Fine English walnut furniture built by the hands of elvish craftsman (J.R.R. Toliken elves, not north pole elves). The forgings are precise and only can add that improved look of regality to your home weather it costs more than a million dollars or if you live in a van down by the river. Just imagine you could be the talk of trailer park, subdivision, or high end private community with the bright white shining beacon of these babies on your humble abode! Many will flock to marvel at the bright heavenly glory that is the Altair Lighting LED Outdoor Lantern With Optional Arm Kit. And this is the best part, when the crowds marveling the granduer of the glow gets too much or hits critical mass at the break of dawn, these sweet sweet babies enact their super photovoltaic cell detection system to reign in the awesome power completely thus disbursing the massive hoards of gawkers on your LED lanterns similar to moths around the flame when it is blown out. Beautiful light fixture. I purchased this one to replace one of the four I had purchased at Costco last year (It stopped working, which is why I didn't give this product all 5 stars). We have gotten many compliments from neighbors and friends on these lights.

DO NOT BUY! We bought 4 of these lights back in 2014 for our house and garage.. We loved the way that they looked and the way that they functiioned. They put out a good deal of light and the dusk to dawn photo eye kept us from having to turn lights on and off. About 6 months ago one of the lights on the garage started blinking on and off at night. We took the light down to see if there was a problem with the wiring, there wasn't so we ended up having to replace the matching set on the garage with something similar since we could no longer find these in a store. Then about a month ago two more of these lights started blinking. I contacted the Amazon seller that we purchased these from and i was told that they no longer carried them I should contact the manufacturer. We contacted the manufacturer and we were told that we would be responsible for shipping and any replacement parts. DO NOT BUY anything from this manufacturer. We bought these from two different people at two different times so they were not all from the same lot. This is a defect that they are aware of and are not willing to fix.

great light price was twice the amount for the same exact thing sold at costco. bought 2 at costco after buying one at amaon

I bought these from Cosco for a lot cheaper. I still see them there today. It's been just over a year and both of them stopped lighting up. After reading reviews it looks like I'm going to have to try to get a new driver. I emailed the company and waiting to hear. It will cost me money either way to have it fixed with their parts or replace with something new. Although these have been wonderful lights and I have love them the pain I'm going through now is probably not worth the cost savings.

Love the photocell dusk-to-dawn feature, energy-saving LED light and seeded glass. At night the integrated LED light illuminates the fixture with no ugly bulb being visible. The fixture is designed to cast light downward and illuminate the ground.

I bought my first Lantern from this company from Costco and I really liked it. So I ordered one from Amazon. It does work as advertised, but the one from Costco was a high Lumen rating. So, this one is a little more "dim" than I anticipated. I think this one is around 850 lumen, the Costco one (same manufacture) was 920. Doesn't sound like much difference, but enough for me to mount this one over on the side of the house, not in front.

The headline says it all. Two of our close neighbors also have identical lamps.Although the lamps were shown as new they were "open box" items. Only one lamp of three lacked two black cap nuts needed to secure the lamp base. We used plain hex nuts and completed the installation.Cutting power use from 60 watts to 13 watts per lamp cuts our consumption by 47 watts per lamp. Total usage for 3 lamps is now 39 watts instead of 180 watts
