An engaging and exciting way to review neurology
This neurology video textbook is truly one of a kind. Rarely does a study guide engage the learner and hold their interest like this "book" does. The chapters are well organized and include all the pertinent information to do well as a medical student on a neuro rotation, a resident in neurology, a fellow in a particular neurological subspecialty, or even a well seasoned neurologist who wants to brush up on up on their knowledge. The images are spectacular and really bring the cases to life. I highly recommend this study guide and will be using it myself for many years to come.

Great Neurology resource
This is the first interactive Neurology video textbook of its kind. It comes in a DVD format with a great textbook file that contains hundreds of videos as links within the text which give you a real-world look at how a particular disease presents itself in the clinical scenario. Dr. Jonathan Howard's writing is well-balanced- it is both concise and comprehensive, paying attention to the minute details of neurology along with a clear explanation of each condition every neurologist encounters in their careers. For the first time, we get to "see" how certain rare disorders present. Not only have residents and fellows loved this book, I have seen faculty wanting to use this book to demonstrate classic cases to their students during rounds. It is accessible through a smart phone or tablet making it easy to carry in your white coat during work. In my opinion, every Neurology resident and faculty must have access to this new generation learning tool. I was particularly pleased at how detailed the chapters on Stroke, Neuro-opthalmology and Demyelinating diseases were. As a current PGY3 Neurology resident, I can say with confidence that this video textbook has now become my new favorite and probably the only resource I would need to do well in residency and also learn some fascinating Neurology to pass the boards.

what a great source of information!
I just bought this book, and I have to tell you- it is a unique, excellent source of information! It combines descriptions of diseases with imaging studies, followed by videos of actual patients who have these disorders. This book is detailed, however not dry and boring like so many other text books out there. it is a true pleasure to go through the pages, learning about anything from vascular to demyelinating to neuromuscular disorders. This book covers all the major topics you need to know for the wards and boards. I personally think it is a great source of reference for medical students studying for end of rotation exams, for residents reviewing for RITE, and for subspecialty fellows brushing up on different topics. In short, if you want to truly learn about all aspects of neurological disorders, this book is a must! It will give you a full picture of disorders (descriptions, imaging studies and real patients), as opposed to all other regular textbooks which are basically just the dry text.

Fantastic and unique resource recommended for all neurology students
Dr. Howard's neurology "textbook" is a truly unique resource that I recommend for ALL medical students. The textbook presents a compilation of cases accompanied by video interviews and/or physical exams of real patients followed by a discussion of the relevant anatomy, pathophysiology, pathology, differential diagnoses, and management for a given disease. For students new neurology, the textbook provides an unique opportunity to visualize both classic examples of common pathologies that will certainly be seen on the wards in addition to rarer pathologies that most will only have the opportunity to read about.

A unique resource with actual patient videos!
The Neurology Video Textbook is a unique and valuable resource for neurologists-in-training. In my experience, most neurology textbooks succeed in conveying information in an organized and detailed manner, but often fail to integrate the ‘flavor’ of the neurological presentation or do not thoroughly describe the diagnostic modalities (eg. imaging, pathology) commonly used as part of the assessment.Dr. Jonathan Howard’s textbook seamlessly weaves in case histories of patients in each chapter by presenting video segments of actual patients describing their key symptoms in their own words and participating in a targeted neurological examination. This allows for a more nuanced appreciation for the various clinical disorders that are addressed in this video textbook and helps to strengthen one’s fund of clinical acumen in a novel manner. This is an expertly-written, succinct, and organized resource that is appropriately targeted towards medical students and residents. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to improve their clinical understanding of various disorders or are preparing for standardized testing (RITE neurology in-service, medical student shelf exams, etc).

Good overview of topics with interviews and imaging
Good overview of topics with interviews and imaging. Definitely not an in depth guide, but does give you visual memory of the disorders.

Extremely well done for anyone who wants "experiential" learning
I bought this for my medical school rotation in Neurology-- and it really saved me. Many disorders are actually impossible to understand without physically seeing them, and it's impossible to see "everything" during one's clerkship. Even more, it reinforced my pre clinical anatomy and ensured that I had relevant clinical anatomy preparation in the form of radiology. The discussions always pointed to images and had clear and concise explanations. Highly recommended (and I have bought many books for medical school!)
