These units were placed next to each other and I tested two at a time for their effectiveness. It is possible that the brightest unit was the most effective and also possible that the ones tested ineffective would do much better if they did not have a competing unit right net to them.In addition once the insect population is eradicated then the subsequent units are obviously not going to do as well.A more controlled test would require testing them one at a time at the same spot and releasing a controlled number of flying insects in the room...then measuring the percentage caught in say a weak or two. I tried this for 4 weeks and inside there were only 2 bugs. It's a good concept though. The fan would be strong enough if the bugs were attracted to it. The best thing is, it's quiet (not noisy at all).UPDATE: I am increasing my Stars to 4 because 1) The Customer Service is excellent and 2) I realized that I really wasn't using it for mosquitoes but was instead trying to get the fruit flies/gnats removed and this unit is actually designed for trapping mosquitoes. I think the blue light that lights up would indeed attract mosquitoes to it and then the fan would strong enough to pull them in. Gnats are not attracted to the blue light and that's where I went wrong....assuming they would be.

To be honest this item is meh. You do get what you pay for so yes, it does feel cheaply made. When I plugged it into a 2.1A USB socket, the fan really isn't that impressive. Just by putting my hands around the opening along the sides, the air being pushed out doesn't have much force to it. The LED lights aren't as bright as I thought they would be so if you're using this in a lit room, it's very ineffective. I bought this to be used in a remote room on property that is lit at night and has many flying insects that enter due to the door constantly opening and closing. It has been about a month and there are only three flying insects caught inside and most everything else is still up on the ceilings or dead by me. Also three weeks in, one of the LED lights died already. This might work better in a dark room at night but would not recommend it for a room that is lit 24/7.

It doesn't catch as many of these bugs as I'd like. Still getting bit and irritated by flying bugs with this thing 2 feet from me. Better than nothing for sure though. Sleep has been better it is right on bed stand at first hard to get used to the light but now nothing. I run it all day as well. Keeps them down. Though still a few stragglers hanging on all the time.

This actually worked. I don't get bitten by mosquitoes for some reason, but my wife attracts them. She was waking up with bites every morning, sometimes a lot of them. I tried a couple different 'solutions' that did nothing. This little machine really made a difference though. I can't say it got every last one, but she started getting a bite or two every few weeks instead of every night. So this machine gets my thumbs up.

I have 2 black and 3 white Huntingood Mosquito Killers throughout my house. We've always had the big noisy mosquitos, the ones that wake you up when they buzz around your head, but lately we've had a smaller, striped abdomen mosquito that makes little noise when it flies and a minute breed of mosquito that is unrelenting and small enough to escape this trap if not for the sticky pads at the bottom of the trap. I put new sticky pads in these traps 4 days ago and this is what they caught. I am happy, since we've installed these mosquito killers no one has been bitten in my house.

It did not live up to what it said it would do. Machine was on, and there was a misquito not 2 inches from it barge blue light apparently did not draw it to the machine. I would like the machine to

I bought 2of the Electric Mosquito insect trap. One works and the other doesn’t work at all For the one that that doesn’t work, the fan isn’t blowing. I would like to have a refund for the one which doesn’t work.

I purchased 4 to put in the lounge room and three bedrooms. I opened them up after 4 weeks and was amazed at how many mozzies were in each. At first I thought the blue light would be too bright for us at night, especially our 12mnth old but it’s no bother at all. They’re quiet as well. I leave them on for a few days in a row, especially if it’s been raining. I’m looking forward to opening them each month to see how many are caught! Not a single bite in 6 weeks for a family of 5, its a game changer for summer!

The idea seems great but the unit hasn't yet caught any mosquitos!

But attracts moths to your house like crazy! Doesn't kill them for days, despite being left on. And after two weeks of consistent use during warm, mosquito-laden days and nights, not one single mossie was caught. I was still being bitten like crazy. I'm afraid I just wasted money on this.
