I needed a small skeleton key to replace an antique-cabinet key that got lost in our recent move. A locksmith suggested I try keys sold on Amazon. I had no hope of that working, but he explained that skeleton keys come in just so many shapes and sizes. And lo and behold, one of them worked! The key didn't look at all like the original, so there was no way I thought it would work, but what matters is the size of the barrel-hole and the shape of the lock-turning piece. There's a wide assortment of shapes and sizes with this set, so if you need a functioning replacement for a lost skeleton key, try this set. You may very well find what you're looking for!$3 per key seemed a little steep to me, but they're good quality, sturdy keys, and the set is probably still cheaper than a visit from a locksmith.

The keys are beautiful and are totally functional. The set appears to be a large variety of keys however this set is comprised of the more basic and most common skeleton keys and unfortunately none fit the specificcabinet I needed a key for but I was not disappointed though and I've even been adding some of my own keys to the set.

I moved a number of antiques from my mother’s house to mine 15+ years ago. I locked them for the move and put the keys together so I would have them when I was ready to deal with the furniture. After an extensive de-cluttering project I could not find the keys. We called in the only lock smith in our little town. He was able to jimmy open one piece but could do nothing about the rest. He charged us $60! I was worried about spending the money on this set of keys but read that other readers were able to unlock some of their pieces. To my surprise, these keys opened six of our things: 1 china cabinet, 2 desks and 3 dressers, all with different keys. Considering what the lock smith charged us, we saved a bundle buying this set. I didn't rate the keys for durability or sturdiness because I just got the keys today.

Yay! I tried about 8 keys and suddenly on the 9th the locks opened! Woot woot! I have two very difficult vintage cabinets to open and was a bit worried these keys might not work. I’m so super pleasantly surprised and happy. Thank you sos so much!

Out of the keys I received, 4 fit one of the old dressers I was hoping to find a key for. Hey, I only needed one for the purchase to be worth it. But, that got me curious, and I started matching up keys - out of the ones I received, there are less than half that are unique. The 4 that fit my dresser all had slightly different finishes, but the metal of the keys was the same. Frankly, for what I needed, now, this is great, but I would have preferred more unique key and fewer duplicates. Note that they are very clear that you may not get all of the different keys pictured, and I'm cool with that. These days it seems like all the reviews are either one-star or five-star. I just wanted folk to be aware that they will likely find at least one key that they need with this set if they need a barrel-style skeleton key and likely more. Note also that if you are handy with a file, you can likely reshape some of these keys to fit, too. I may eventually find homes for many of these keys!

I purchased this set of many keys in hopes that one would work on an antique secretary desk that we lost the keys to during a move. It takes two different keys because the lock for the fold-down desk surface is different than the top drawer and glass doors in the top hutch section. I was pleased to find a key that works for both locks in the set. They were among the last that I tried and I was worried that none would work, but viola! So happy about that. Now that I have spent money on having working keys and don't have to care about the lost keys, I will likely find the missing keys, LOL.

Quick delivery and product as described. I work with a local museum and have always enjoyed furniture restoration. Our museum has a lovely old walnut secretary that uses 3 unique mortise locks on the drawers and doors. I took the locks to 2 professional locksmiths and was able to purchase one key that fit the drawer, but that was all. There was little interest in the second locksmith's part to attempt to find keys. I ordered the set of 20 and found a key to match each lock. I plan to order some individual keys as backups. This is a very hand set of keys to keep on hand.
