Pretty, but, if you're seeking authenticity, mostly non-native species
! found this when shopping for wildflower seed native to Georgia (US) to create a natural area for pollinators and other wildlife in my backyard. Nurseries that specialize in native plants offered individual species, but no mixes for Georgia or the southeastern US. This looked promising, and it was more economical than buying seeds for individual species. I planted some buckwheat (also from OutsidePride) as a nurse crop, then planted this mix. It is beautiful in my backyard, but it bothers me that most of the species (by species count and by percentage of the blend) are not native to the eastern US. At least one, the Shasta Daisy, is not native anywhere. It is not a "wild" flower at all. It is an intentional hybrid of daisy/aster species. Why is having only native plants important to me? In addition to conserving native plant species, the insects that live in or migrate through my area are adapted to the plants native to this area. This mix is beneficial for those insects, but not as beneficial as a mix of plants native to the Georgia Piedmont plain would be. This fall, I will be buying those individual species seeds to create a wild "garden" of plants that would naturally be found in association with one another (actually, a few "gardens" for the different microclimates/soil moisture levels in my yard). Once they are established, I will start removing the exotic species that I mistakenly introduced in this mix.If you want a natural area that isn't necessarily authentic to your area (in reality, most are already naturalized here and are sold in the nursery trade), this mix produces a beautiful result that your bees will love. I even had a couple of monarch butterflies pass through today. It is a much better use of space than growing grass.

Better than the pictures!
We own about 20 acres in a rural county in Northeast Tennessee. My husband fine tilled a 6' strip along the county road for about 300 yards. Then we hand sowed five pounds of seed on the soil and did not rake it in, just let the seed lay on the ground. We did not fertilize or water. We were fortunate to have a gentle rain within three days. We prepared the ground the last week of March and as of today (third week of June) we have THOUSANDS OF BLOOMS! Our neighbors are envious and people stop and look at the flowers. The bees and butterflies are also quite pleased. We have decided to do this every year from now on.

A Starter Gardner's dream
I have never purchased wildflower seeds but it had been on my mind to do so, so when this mix came up on my radar I spent what seemed like a lot of money wondering what I got myself into. Now, three months later I am pleased with the results. There are a couple dozen types of seeds in this package and they won't all come up at once. The first, in my case, has been cosmos, and they are very impressive. My pollinators lately have gathered for the feast.Would I select this package again? You betcha.

Flowers are gorgeous!!
I was hoping for more phlox, but I got a good variety of flowers! They come up good in mostly shade and all sun. I have some that have gotten HUGE because they get all the runoff from the roof. They don't need a lot of water, but obviously look better with water...

Wonderful Wild Flowers
We planted these in partial shade after an area was cleared of English Ivy. We live in the Atlanta area and the seeds were planted later in May. We did have lower than usual temperatures in May and June and good rain. We were amazed how well these did. We only planted 3 areas so the seeds were not as widely disbursed as recommended on the package. Very beautiful and there are more blooms to open.

Maybe they were old or microwaved prior to shipment?
Planted exactly according to instructions in the correct soil type with the correct amount of sun and water and at the correct time of year. Nothing sprouted. Interestingly, the single species seeds I've purchased from Outsidepride grew excellently, but this mix yielded a goose egg.

More than satisfied!
More than satisfied. We scattered these amongst our mountainside property and all through the growing season there were beautiful flowers growing - many at different times creating an ever-changing beautyscape.

Germinate in even rather poor soil...
I spread this seed on the hillside of a mountain home and it germinated with a very modest wheat straw cover. The soil had been dug up with a Bobcat but was still compacted and pretty rocky. The seeds still germinated to provide a very nice naturalized cover. Product arrived on time and properly packed.
