I purchased this pet hip and joint supplement along with another brand to give to my neighbor who has a dog that has been having issues with walking and running normally. Our older fur baby has lost a little zip and is showing signs of hip discomfort .We have tried other hip supplements and had trouble with him not eating them. I didn't want to force him to take them so we looked for a better option. We tried these because of the chicken and they are soft chews. Bingo! My 13 1/2-year-old Chorky (Chihuahua-Yorkie) was having trouble climbing the doggy stairs to get up on his chair or my bed. I was already giving him a joint supplement so I thought the next step would be to put him on arthritis meds from the vet. I really didn't want to do this because those stronger meds can be so hard on a dog's stomach. Then it occurred to me that maybe the joint supplement I was giving my dog was ineffective. I searched on Amazon and compared different joint supplements. Premium Hip and Joint Supplement had good reviews so I placed my order. My dog has been taking the supplement for about 3 weeks and there is a noticeable improvement in his agility. He can get up and down now without any problems. The biggest improvement has been in his left hip. Sometimes he wouldn't be able to put his left hind paw down on the floor because his hip was so stiff. He hasn't any problems at all recently. He seems to like the taste - at least he's never complained about it.

Must for older dogs, dogs with arthritis or constant injuries that cause limping for a few days, slowing down of older dogs due to joints, etc. Anything joint related in dogs, and pretty much all older dogs that live a long time experience this eventually.After a month or two of use, 12yo Cocker with history of MULTIPLE chronic problems, on all kinds of meds, blind and deaf but nose works fine and they are nose dominant animals, and he still LOVES attention and the nub is still wagging like crazy and he seems very happy. Took forever to get meds right, most of his life after multiple surgeries for ears, tumors and anal glands. To name some. But we love him, he's family. He was doing really bad a couple years back before we got the meds right but he was still in pain from arthritis and age. Moved very slow, always injuring himself and limping for a few days. But no more seizures and no more incessant licking due to meds.Started him on this, probably should have sooner, now he's climbing on couches again and moves a lot faster. More like he did five years ago! It's almost like he got a new lease on life just when I thought he'd be lucky to make it to 11. Now I have no idea how long he could go, he's damn tough. Started climbing over the couch and jumping off the end to shortcut through the bedroom if I'm not fast enough to stop him... Will do it over and over if I don't. Few months ago he had a hard time getting on the couch and wouldn't dare jump.So yeah, I'd say it works wonders considering we had his drugs figured out and he's been on them awhile --this is the only change. Oh, and we always feed them quality food and give them scraps provided they aren't bad for them. Other dog is a Llewellyn Setter, 5, and never been sick or to the vet for anything but shots, but we're starting him on this too because of the preventive measure. Franklin said an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Sure learned that with the Cocker.Never too late to start this stuff but I think you'd get the most benefit by starting it halfway through life or so before age and arthritis naturally set in.

I have been using these chews for about a month and the difference in KathyJo's movements and ability to move is remarkable. I started noticing a difference within a few days. She has been able to get around so much better that she has lost weight. I haven't weighed her but I can clearly see it on her. She is 10 years old and was having significant difficulty getting up from lying down and had an extra layer of fat just behind her front paws. She is acting much happier, too. I'm so glad I took a chance on it. It's pricey, but for me it's worth it. (My son-in-law was cutting my grass and mentioned he thought she looked much spryer also.).

I received a different bottle of Wild Salmon Oil for my dogs as part of the Amazon Vine program. I have an 60 pound older dog (12), so I'm concerned about her joint health. She is black and in the winter, we see white dry skin flakes on her. The salmon oil has definitely helped keep her skin more moisturized. I hope it's also helping her joints. I also have a small terrier mix who is pretty picky about her food. When I would put the salmon oil on her food, she would run to her dish and gobble it up.When the original (16 ounce) bottle ran out, I decided to look for more. That brand was $20 for a 16 ounce bottle. So, I decided to shop around. This brand was just $5.00 more for twice as much. So, I got it. The quality seems to be the same. They both love it.I see that some people's dogs don't care for the taste. All I can say is mine love it. It's a pretty inexpensive treat for them. I give them about two pumps each. It'll last for quite a while. It's also good for their skin and joints.
