Here we are two years later and the color has begun to wear away. I really like this cutlery set but it is upsetting that it doesn't maintain the look less than two years after purchase. I will say the material is sturdy and I haven't had any pieces damaged. (even the one my son ran through the garbage disposal is still completely in tact!) The only issue is the coating isn't handling normal wear very well.

These are a great deal and the matte black is beautiful. My only complaint was that the zip ties holding the silverware in the package were sooooo tight I had to use a knife to cut them (scissors would not fit as they were scinched so tight) and the silverware got slightly scratched.

I loved the look of this flatware upon opening. They’re unique and go perfectly with a country kitchen. However, after a couple months of use, I have to say I’m disappointed in how they’ve held up. The black finish is coming off of most of the pieces and it leaves them looking very used.

I wanted matte black silverware to match my dishes and general home decor and this set was perfect. I haven't noticed any chipping or flaking of the color, however, I do handwash all my dishes.EDIT: Black coating has begun to flake off.

A month ago, I purchased this set as a house warming gift for my friend couple, who were redoing their kitchen.This is silverware of excellent craftmanship and I'm glad to find them on Amazon.Comfort grips and goes well with other fine dining set.The pictures don't do the set justice, they appear more like polished stone rather than depicted grossy look.Goes great with dark plate settings but also works with any china.When the couple invites me over, we use them all the time and yet not a single defect to be found!

This silverware set is exactly what I've been searching for to match the whole black and stainless steel aesthetic I've been going for in my kitchen and my house in general.This set is so beautiful, I immediately had to buy another one after I received it because of how much I loved it. Each piece is super light and easy to hold. My 9 year old nephew holds these longer than other heavier spoons I've witnessed. Overall, this is a beautiful set that it well worth your money.

We have had these in a house of 5 people as our every day set for a few months now and they are wonderful. People have commented on how nice they look. Nearly the whole set has gone through the dishwasher every other day for the past few months and there aren't any spots where the finish is wearing off. They are nice and heavy in your hand. I love them and will probably add another set in the future!
