The Complete Jewish Study Bible (Hardcover): Illuminating the Jewishness of God's Word Hardcover – August 1, 2016

After reading only the King James my whole life (which I still value), I am loving this "paraphrase" Bible because it puts the Bible characters into their own culture rather than reading them through the lense of old England. It brings into focus the true Jewishness of the Scriptures, which is fairly well masked in the KJV and other popular versions. I am loving getting to know my Jewish Yeshua more intimately...the Word made flesh...His ways, His people, His culture, His laws, and His coming kingdom. I am not Jewish, but I am grafted into the commonwealth of Israel, and I am thrilled about it!

Having had this for a little bit of time now, I find that I am favoring it above all my other translations. Having found out a little over five years ago that I have Jewish blood, this particular Bible translation has been calling to me since. I'm glad I bought it, would do so again, and highly recommend it.

I appreciate the Hebrew twist this Bible puts on scriptures. It uses a lot of Hebrew proper names and offers Jewish information not found in other Bibles. And it includes a New Testament! There is a lot of cross-referencing that is made available. It is not a Jewish Bible in that it offers Hebrew and English language translations side by side.
