A Great Wired/Handheld option for people with big hands
I have big hands, so the Joy-Cons are my least favorite controller. This one is way better for big hands, or if you want regular-sized buttons. Only downside is no Gyro, but you can use it handheld or Wired and it works GREAT. Bought it 2 years ago and just remembered to review it, but it's been working great since then, no issues.

A handy alternative, if you are good with the features
I bought these to replace another Hori split pad set, which lasted 6 years until they met an untimely demise (sheared off after a kid dropped my switch down a flight of stairs...)This version comes with a wired USB dongle that they can dock into, turning them into a wired USB controller for the switch. Worth noting: when the controllers are attached directly to the switch, they present as JOY-CONS. When they are attached to the wired adapter, they present as a USB GAMEPAD. This matters for some types of games that don't support gamepads. The added versatility is nice, because many third-party options show as gamepads regardless of how they attach to the Switch. The controls are decent for a third-party product. They won't match Nintendo, but they are good enough. They feel comfortable for larger hands, and my kids prefer them over the original joy-cons.The biggest downside to this unit, are the number of features left on the table: no gyro, no rumble, and no power of their own (must be attached to the switch or the gamepad dongle). If a game requires detached joy-cons or gyro controls, these won't work for you. That said, they are one of the few third-party options that properly present as joy-cons when docked into the switch. All of these third-party options make compromises to hit a competitive price, and you will have to decide which compromises make sense to you.

Niche, but perfect for me
I don’t have giant hands but I hate using joycons. This gives me a comfortable controller feel while I play in portable mode. Now I’m playing my switch again so thank you. No batteries but works for what I need

Split pad pro, never take it off my Switch.
I never take it off my Switch. I consider the Split Pad Pro a must have for comfort in portable mode. Sadly it does not have HD rumble, NFC support for Amibo, and Nintendo has limits on control mapping for third party controllers because Nintendo thinks their Joy-Cons are perfect. You'll need a bigger case to hold the switch if you want to leave them attached.

Awesome size and Feel
These controllers are awesome. They lack a few things that the stock controllers have such as NFC and Rumble but they make up for it in grip and feel. The thumb-sticks are accurate and do not have any drift. They came packaged well and slid right onto the switch with no modification needed. They are built to last and have a great weight to them.

Great grip for my 8yo
My 8 yo son loves this more than the regular Nintendo switch grips.
