so far so good.
works well so far. put it in the back of nuvo 40l. tight but it will fit without the hanging bracket. running it on “4” gives me a decent skimate in the cup. The only thing i hate is the drain line, in my case i have no where to put it and no way to use it so i’ll probably find something to plug it and just take the cup off to empty. you also can’t hear it at all which is nice. let’s hope it lasts a little while.

Solid little skimmer
I ordered this for a clownfish tank I'm setting up. Seems pretty good quality. The box seems very professional. Usually with "Amazon specials" you get a random box that feels thrown together but the packaging was very neat and seemed well thought out. The skimmer itself seems like a solid construction, I wasn't worried about breaking it during assembly. I like that it came with a controllable DC pump which, for the price point, is uncommon for comparable skimmers. Tried it out on my main system, which although it's undersized for, it worked well and pulled out skimmate like it should. My sump has a rim but I was able to hand it off of one of the baffles and get it dialed in. The venturi from the pump to the collection cup seemed weird at first and I thought would make it a pain to clean the cup but there's a drain valve for the cup included so you can drain it easy without having to remove it. I might try and find a way to quick disconnect the hose in the future but for the price, that being my only gripe, I wont complain. An equivalent skimmer from the big name brand manufacturers would cost double what this one costs. The small form factor is pretty impressive as well.

Good DC Skimmer
I've been in the hobby for over 20years and never owned a skimmer, always felt they were unnecessary, but recently upgrade to a 100gal, and quickly realized I would never be able to fill the tank with live stock without a skimmer. This has been producing a lot of skimm and got my nitrates to 10ppm, from 40ppm. The only issue is how the pump attaches to the bottom, you just push it in and hope that it holds/stays.. I wish it fastened, as it has fallen out almost every time I'm removing the revisor to clean.. That said, it is working great.

Awesome protein skimmer for medium sized tanks!
The media could not be loaded. I own and operate a local youth facility. We have a 65 gallon reef located in the lobby area and some much larger tanks throughout the facility. We ordered this protein skimmer specifically for the compact size and controllable DC pump. This protein skimmer is replacing an old Coralife protein skimmer in a 65 gallon reef tank.Packaging - The protein skimmer was packaged extremely well and arrived promptly via Prime shipping. Provided in the packaging is the skimmer body, the collection cup and lid, waste valve, the pump, the controller, the power adapter, a soft air line, a soft waste disposal line, noise reduction feet, plastic mounting screws, and adjustable mounting bracket. All items were individually wrapped and packed firmly into a foam shock absorbing container that fit into the cardboard display box.Assembly - I had no issues in assembling the protein skimmer. It was pretty straightforward. The collection cup and lid simply twist locked into the skimmer body with secure tight seal. The pump output slid directly into the bottom of the skimmer body. The air line slid into the outlet located on the collection cup and connected directly to the intake of the pump. The waste line and valve connected to the outlet of the collection cup. The pump attached to the controller with a water resistant fitting that screwed firmly into place locking in an O ring to shield the connection from water. The power adapter plugged in directly to the top of the controller. I was very pleased with the ease of assembly.Installation - Upon removing the old protein skimmer, I was able to simply place the new skimmer into the chamber next to the systems roller mat. I was able to adjust the height of the water in the skimmer using the adjustable sliding mounting bracket that is attached to the skimmer body and then secured it in place with the plastic screws provided. The water outlet is adjustable with a simple turn of the skimmer body. I was able to adjust the amount of air coming into the pumps venturi by loosening a plastic screw located on the collection cup lid and moving the air intake slider slightly. The power of the pump is easily adjusted by pressing the intensity button with a power range of 1-10. The pumps power cable was plenty long enough to run the cabling to the far end of the aquarium cabinet where my other controllers are mounted. All that is left to do is simply plug it in. Installation was completed in under 10 minutes.Operation - The protein skimmer runs completely silent. I was surprised at how quiet it is. It is definitely better than the airy gurgling sound of my old protein skimmer. Tuning was simple. I run the skimmer at a power of 7 with full air and about a 10% decrease in water outlet from the skimmer body. The controller has a feed timer as well that is convenient especially if you were to have the pump located in the display (my skimmer is located in my sump). I was amazed to see that the skimmer had started producing dark skimmate so quickly. After the skimmer has had time to set in I will adjust the settings to run dry skimmate. Overall I am extremely happy with the operation of the skimmer! This protein skimmer is everything that I was looking for in a top quality product. Very pleased with my purchase! I highly recommend!

Better than skimmers twice its price
I have been running this skimmer a week now, and I'm beyond impressed. It has adjustments for the height in water, adjustment for speed of the motor, adjustment for air flow, and adjustment for water release. That said, that does mean it can be a little tricky to get dialed in, but when you do, oh boy. This thing makes great bubbles, great foam, and pulls out all the nasties. After the break in period I'm running the pump at 5/10 and have the water level about 1" above the outlet tube. This has been getting me a decent wetish skim. I can't say enough good things about this skimmer, for the cost, it cannot be beat and it's absolutely silent. I'm running it on a waterbox 50 AIO in the second chamber. I did have a ton of micro bubbles in the display for the first 2 or 3 days, but as the skimmer breaks in these are reduced to almost none. I plan on adding a mesh bubble trap before my return to capture the few remaining strays, but even as is, I'm perfectly happy.
