Don’t give up.
I’m on my third bar of this soap after converting from plastic bottles of shampoo and conditioner. I am in my 60s and have mid length hair that is fine but thick....and dead straight. It is also highlighted. At first I lathered the bar of soap in my hands and rubbed it into my hair but this is not adequate enough to remove the build up of product (hairspray) and sebum. I have since used it in the shower and I work up a very rich lather by rubbing the bar onto my hair. I take a good couple of minutes to really massage the lather in then I give it a thorough rinse followed by a last rinse with a few tablespoons of cider vinegar diluted in a jug of water. I leave this in and don’t rinse further. This restores the ph balance. So, only one vigorous wash followed by a good rinse and a final douse in vinegar and my hair is softer and shinier that it has ever been. I do this once a week and it is fine in between times. My husband and adult son also use this soap and love it too. My other son only ever uses water. His hair is strong and clean and glossy. I think you can get away with that if your hair is short. All my cats just lick their fur and they look fab too. Hair is more resilient that you think. I reckon we’re inundated with products and marketing these days and need to be braver and more natural. Less is more.

Love, love love!
I really do love love love this product and it has done wonders for my hair which is now shiny and super soft. I think in the transition period, the trick is to wash your hair with just water for a couple of weeks and that way remove any chemical residue that will probably prevent the hair from being greasy and feeling like wax (which a few people experienced on here) once you start using the shampoo bar. It doesn't smell like a regular shampoo as there are no added fragancies but it smells very clean if that makes sense. You need to rub the bar all over your hair to get it to lather up nicely. I truly can't recommend this enough and you can use it as body soap too... Ok its a bit more expensive than similiar products and regular shampoo but its really all you need!

This shampoo doesn't feel like there is any coconut or argan oil in it
I really wanted to join the plastic free bandwagon, and this shampoo was my first foray into plastic free toiletries. Because I've got long hair, I perused the options for quite a long while before settling on one with coconut and argan oil.Unfortunately, on first use, I realised this was a product I would not ever be using again, so a wasted £10. Firstly the smell, it smells like old fashioned bar laundry soap, unfragranced, and therefore quite an unpleasant odour. Secondly, it stripped my hair of any oils it may have had in it, my hair was matted, dried out and about as soft as straw, taking squeaky clean to a new level. The experience was not what I was expecting and considering the effect the product had on my hair, I feel the description to be misleading.

Good, but expensive
Product is good, but just a little pricey for what you get. Next time I will shop around for local producers.

Great alternative to conventional shampooing - without Sulphates, Silicones or Fragrance
About a year ago I decided to go sulphate, silicone etc free as I was suffering from diffuse thining and was at my witts end. After a recomendadtion and several months of research I decided to try this shampoo bar. It is the purist alternative I have found with just a couple of ingredients and the oils being cold pressed meaning they are unheated. The bar has no fragrance which I like or you could add some essential oils to it if you wanted to. I started off using this as suggested by a another you tuber alternating with adding in bicarbonate of soda on the scalp every 3 washes and using apple cidre viniger to close the cuticle. I found the bicarb way too harsh for the hair (it can be used for a bad hair dye job to help lift out the colour) leaving my hair impossible to brush. So gradually I adapted it to my own needs. I have now added in a leave-in conditioner with disolvable silicones as I found without it, my hair was difficult to brush. You will also think when you use this that you wont be able to brush your hair but actually when its dry your hair regains its suppleness again. My hair is on the dryer side which is why I added the conditioner but you may not need to this is why I gave it 4 stars not 5. However now I am going to try tthe one for dry hair and see how I get on with that.

Fantastic shampoo bar!
I’m usually too lazy to write reviews but this shampoo bar is worth the effort. My hair has honestly never felt so clean and I can go at leat a day longer without washing than I ever can with regular shampoo. My hair is short and it seems to give it more volume and texture. You do have to rinse very thoroughly and when I used it on my hair when it was longer I did find it made it tangled but this isn’t a problem now my hair is short. It lasts for ages and smells nice and its good to cut down on plastic in the bathroom. One word of warning though - don’t get it in your eyes because it stings like hell. Superb product - worth the money.

Impressive stuff!
I dont even remember what i saw that made me look at this, i was actually looking for a spin dryer.. Anyway...I have long hair, waist length, i dont know exactly what i was expecting, normally i end up using a huge glug of shampoo, followed by a great handful of conditioner, so this tiny looking bar just well, it looked so lacking.Because it doesnt contain soap, it doesnt throth up like a normal shampoo, so, i wasnt so sure i had used enough but, i moved on and gave it a good rinse. I let my hair dry naturally, takes forver, but, as it dried two things became clear. One, most of my hair was glorously shiney, smooth and soft, and then there was a patch at the back that well.. felt odd. I read up on a number of people who have complained of it feeling waxy .. Guess what.. My hand soon showed why. The hand i had run through it a fair bit, soon showed a residue drying on it.. Clearly, i didnt rinse well enough. So, my tip would be is if you have thick or long or both hair, to rinse it, comb it with a wide comb and then rinse again. In all honesty, it takes a lot more rinse.
