Works perfectly
Connected Playstation2 to the 5 component inputs on back of flatscreen TV. The improvement in picture quality is very noticeable when compared to the 3 cable composite connection used before. As others have mentioned you must first change the video output on the PS2 system configuration to 'Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr' from the default 'RGB'. You can find various YouTube vids to show you how if unsure. The cable is sturdy, well constructed and the plug fitted smoothly into the back of the console. It works exactly as intended and I can thoroughly recommend this product.

Cheap plastic junk! A really disappointing waste of money. Don't buy it. It's useless.
The component leads are so thin my PS2 games showed 1cm dark horizontal 'jail bars' moving down the screen continually with every game tried. This is caused by unterference from my TV set, but moving the PS2 away from the TV made no difference.Apparently to avoid this common flaw you need 'csync scart' not these cheap, sweatshop, pieces of turd.It didn't work on my PS1 console at all, so I tried playing PS1 games on my PS2, same result. No picture or audio whatsoever.I got a better resolution using the original PS2 scart to RGB leads that came with my original PS2 23 years ago.It did work on my PS3 but it's unbelievably flimsy & clearly been made as cheaply as possible. It fell apart after putting it in the output slot of my PS3 on the second go!I managed to get both 1080i & 1080p resolutions on my PS3 by just using a male HDMI output/input lead without using any adapter or this worthless scart-component converter. I will be returning it asap & hope to get a refund. I don't want a replacement. DON'T buy this garbage. It'll make you want to murder everyone involved with it's design, manufacture & promotion. It'll no doubt end up being dumped on mass in the sea, causing more plastic polution & endangering wildlife. It's the kind of junk 'toy' you find in expensive crackers at Christmas, but only if you're really unlucky.

Does what it's made for.
Improved the picture from my PS2. Lot less blurry than the AV cable. One thing to note is that this only works on the PS2 picture. This does not work for the PS1 picture as not able to output a component picture in PS1 mode - something to note. Putting a PS1 game in the PS2 produces a picture full of lines - funny though the PS1 logo is OK but the picture changes when the game itself runs. I'm sure I checked all settings. I have a PS1 set up as well (with a S-Video cable) so just use that instead. The other thing to note is you need to change the output of your PS2 to Component before you attach this cable! Use your old AV cable to change it in the settings menu. It makes no difference to the picture under AV but if you don't you will just get a black picture with the new cable and consequently won't be able to see the menu to change it!Once it's set up the picture is so much better.

Almost Perfect, But One Issue
This cable is almost exactly what I needed to make my PlayStation 2 work with my new Sony Bravia TV. It fits the PS2 perfectly and the colors match the ports on the TV perfectly as well. The only puzzling thing is that the picture is mostly black and white, rather than color, despite following the instructions to change the video settings. If I can figure out how to get around this issue, it will be working perfectly.

Good Quality but not a Great Image
External quality of this cable is very good but I still get a slightly ghosted image in composite, which is what I am trying to avoid so that I can bypass PS3 HDCP 24/7. Gave up trying to get a good composite cable after 4 cables from different suppliers were no better. I hence purchased a HDMI SPLITTER, which does not comply to HDCP, as a result I can now record via my PS3.

Superb accessorie, must have
Great item for having a really crisp and vibrant image on tv, huge difference from standard cable. Needs to set first with the old cable video output to component and works superb!

Complete crap.
Awful, awful quality. Noisy, poor shielding, end up looking not even as good as S-video cables. AVOID!

Perfect fit PS2 lead
Works a treat on my PS2 and it sharpens the image dramatically on a modern day tv.But before you connect this "Component Lead" you'll need to configure your PS2 settings. You need to change the setting from RGB toY Cb/Pb Cr/Pr. This is easily done in the PS2 System Configuration option at the start up menu.
