Love wild rice!
This is gorgeous wild rice - we got the black and the red and they're pretty much indistinguishable from one another. Both wonderful! It takes about half an hour to cook, and it's very different from normal brown, and especially white, rice.It doesn't make the same sort of carby sludge - it's much higher in protein and fibre than normal rice, and it will always retain a slight al dente/shell quality. That might be an acquired taste a little bit, but once you get used to it, it's honestly gorgeous. Equally, it doesn't expand in the same way as normal rice, so if you want a goodly-sized portion, you'll want to cook more than you would with normal white or brown rice. The flavour is slightly smoky and nutty, and it goes amazingly with chicken and, weirdly, tuna. Actually, let me tell you what I made with this, in case you want to try it. It was honestly the tastiest thing I've eaten in weeks.~ 250g of wild rice~ 2 cans of tuna~ 4 spring onions loosely chopped~ cherry tomatoes loosely chopped~ half a cucumber finely chopped~ one avocado, de-stoned and smooshed in~ a pinch of salt and black pepper~ Gochugaru flakes (the more the better!)~ and a dressing made of apple cider vinegar, olive oil and fresh lemon juice. And there you have it. That will happily feed 2 or 3 people with a gorgeously light, tasty meal. For the record, I made it with the black wild rice because that's the one I'm more familiar with, but both are so tasty, and they really are very similar. The black may be ever so lightly smokier but, in a blind taste test, you'd be hard pressed to taste the difference. You get 12 (12!) boxes of 500g, so 6kg in total. Amazing. This is organic wild rice which is usually really expensive - it's healthier, and tastier and lovelier than normal white or brown rice - so this is a brilliant price for what you get.Cannot recommend it more highly!

Flavoursome on its own.
This rice is amazing. Now it is full of colour so you need to be careful of your clothing as it will stain garments. The reason I've given 4 stars is because it takes around 50 mins to cook it.You cook it in lots of water so need to measure either the rice or the water.Once cooked (just bite a grain every so often until it is right for you). You then drain using a sieve or colander. The packet doesn't make it clear if you should wash it.I did give 2 washes but didn't seem like there was much to pour out.Compared to other rice's which generally need about 10 for water to clear.I actually ate a few spoonfuls of just rice and honestly was so good I really could eat it just on its own.Now price is quite high. Works out at around 4 quid per box.The rice however is only grown in specific areas and is organic.Flavour is slightly nutty.I also have red rice which I'll make tomorrow to try.Recommend for all but not for weekday meals as it takes too long.

Source of nutrients and antioxidants
The Organico Wholegrain Nerone Black Rice is a true gem of a product. As a natural superfood, it is a fantastic source of nutrients and antioxidants, making it a wonderful addition to any diet. The vacuum packing ensures the rice stays fresh and retains its flavour, and the fact that it is organic and free from GMOs and preservatives makes it a responsible choice for both you and the environment.I have been thoroughly impressed by the quality of this rice. The texture is firm and toothsome, making it a great base for any meal. The wholegrain aspect is fantastic, providing a slow release of energy throughout the day and contributing to a feeling of fullness. The high iron content is an added bonus, and I have noticed a marked improvement in my overall energy levels since incorporating this rice into my diet. The Organico Wholegrain Nerone Black Rice is also incredibly versatile. It works well in a variety of dishes, from salads to stir-fries, and even as a delicious alternative to traditional white rice. It is also vegan, making it a great option for those following a plant-based diet.Overall, I would highly recommend the Organico Wholegrain Nerone Black Rice to anyone looking for a healthy, nutritious, and delicious addition to their diet. It is a fantastic source of antioxidants, iron, and fibre, and its vacuum packed and organic nature makes it an excellent choice for both you and the planet. I give it a full 5 stars, and I am confident that you will not be disappointed with this excellent product.

Less stodgy. High fibre. 30min cook time
I received 12 X 500g vacuum packs of this rice, so I’ve been sharing it out across my family. Each pack comes in it’s own box, which it could have done without from a sustainability perspective. The rice has a great colour, some of which comes out when cooking. This has quite a long cook time and this is slightly confusing since it says 30mins on one part, then 35-40mins on another. I cooked mine for 30mins and it came out perfect. I didn’t anything to it prior to cooking. It has a lovely colour to it and was slightly al dente, which is my preference for rice and pasta. It’s far less stodgy than normal white rice and doesn’t leave you feeling bloated afterwards. I had mine with Sweet & Sour chicken and it worked really well. There’s nothing negative to say about the flavour.Since it doesn’t fluff up as much a normal white rice, the portion size does look smaller, but you do have the same dry amount of rice. It just hasn’t absorbed as much water.Everything is very premium about it: organic, bathed in water from the Alps, etc. So it will tick a lot of boxes for people.I really like this rice and look forward to trying it with other dishes.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful.
