Great shade option!
I’m not usually one to hop on and write a review but this is a great shade alternative to an umbrella. My husband and I are pretty handy and got this together in an afternoon. We found that the footprint of our deck was too narrow but we liked the idea of having the pergola so we modified the step down part to be level with the rest of the main deck. We didn’t use that long wide step anyway. My husband is pretty picky about construction and noted that the pergola was well made and nicely designed for assembly. We modified it a little by changing out the ribbon that pulls back the awning and having a small hook instead. We have a small hook on the end of a dowel that allows us to reach up and pull the awning and snap it into place. This eliminates the visual aspect of the ribbon hanging down. Overall very pleased!!

Pool shade
Very nice pergola at a great price! I love the color!! As another reviewer stated, I found it a little wobbly so I added extra supports. I also improvised a new method to open and close it since I installed it over the pool.

Nice pergola, easy to assemble
Pergola came within projected delivery schedule, was well packaged and without damage. No parts were missing, (even had 1 or 2 extra screws of each size). Instructions were very straight forward, although mainly pictures/diagrams. A few lines of text would have been helpful, missed a detail on one diagram that caused have to disassemble and redo a step...no big deal.My wife and I did the assembly without any real difficulties and we are 70. Follow the directions and look ahead before you actually assemble and you will be fine. The only modification we did was putting the 4 main posts in large outdoor planters with gravel instead of bolting them down.Seems very sturdy and are looking forward to a summer of shade on very hot days.

Great gazebo!
The gazebo was bought as a gift and was just as described and works great. Takes a little time to assemble, but worth it. Had discussions with seller about the product before buying and during assembly with a slight need for a small part. Seller was extremely helpful and responsive. I would definitely order from them again.

Quality is number one
UPDATE:See the last picture showing a drilled hole. Above the hole is another hole, but it has the necessary hardware piece that supports a screw; these holes are on both main beams B & C. Yes, we can plug it with a rubber plug, but we have another diy use for those "extra" holes. We reached out to the company only to get repeated responses over 3 days. "The holes don't require any additional hardware" & it's a "standard part of the pergola design" . And finally, they "do not have additional hardware parts available that are specifically designed to cover these holes".My husband is a retired mechanical engineer & noted those holes are the same diameter as the holes above that have the necessary hardware pieces in place. What purpose does this design in the product serve other than to allow wasp's to go in there & rain water that probably has no way to drain. It was suggested to buy tension rods if we want to hang curtains; not an option for our diy use. Lastly, the Instruction booklet does not show these extra holes.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Original review:We purchased this Purple Leaf pergola (10'x12') because of reviews stating the company was prompt in getting missing (or extra) hardware sent quickly; that's great customer service. Plus the reviews mentioned the quality of the materials.Husband injured his knee, so I assembled everything, the poles (posts) & cross beams in 4 hours, then 2 hours to get the pergola set up on the deck, including the canopy; neighbor came over... definitely need two people & two ladders to set it up.Instructions were not a problem until I got to the canopy; sometimes the easiest part of a project is a head scratcher. The pictures in the instructions, Steps 6 and Step 7, don't match the actual canopy cover. This is probably not making sense to you 😀, so maybe the photos will help.***Just make sure you start with the edge of the canopy that has only 1 cut out on Main Beam B ending with the edge of the canopy that has 3 cut outs on Main Beam C (where the strap goes).Other than that, everything was in the box, all parts there and no major dents. So glad we purchased this pergola because each summer we'd put up/take down the 12'x16' seasonal canopy. This will be permanent, on the deck, only to take the canopy down during winter (per recommendations in the instruction booklet).Take time to read what others + reviews had to add; many have great suggestions! One person mentioned using magnets to keep the canopy from moving forward during windy day's, or using a bungie cord to hold it back.Quality product, lot's of details went into making this pergola. Thank you Purple Leaf 💜

Requires additional footers to stand solid
The footers that come with the pergola will not allow it to stand solid. As the first pic shows the included footers are just a flat plate with two mounting points, this doesn't mount the posts solid, it just creates a pivot point for the posts. When I contacted Purple Leaf's customer support they suggested purchasing the following additional post bases, Kinchoix 4pc Pergola Post Base, $40. After purchasing and installing those, now the pergola stands solid. My advice get these additional post bases before assembling the pergola, and save yourself the trouble of having to build it twice. Additional photos show how I lined the inside of the posts with 2x4s so the additional post bases would have something solid to attach to, other wise they would just be attached to thin metal. One more issue I encountered was the canopy not staying in place when either opened or closed, the solution to that was to tie it down once opened or closed. With the additional parts and modifications I am finally satisfied with the pergola.
