Cells Are NOT Ridged
This slate seems sturdy, but when I tried it out, I realized that each cell is not ridged. Instead, the top cells are smooth rectangles. Not having ridges to guide the stylus makes it hard to find the right place to poke in the dots for letters. I'm new to Braille, and for me, it makes it too hard to write. I'm going to have to find a different slate.

Slate appears sturdy and the braille dots are indented well. Hinges are good. Did not come with stylus like listed.
