Needs modification to work. Loud
This is identical in almost every way to the OEM part. As another review mentioned the upper housing is bowed and when you screw it down something binds up and the mirror won't adjust at all. If you test it before screwing it down it works just fine, but it's also very loud. What I ended up doing was taking apart the old OEM part. I kept the bottom housing, motor, and circuit board and used everything else from the new one. If you do this, the housing has a screw holding it together, on the OEM part I had to drill a small hole to access it.Other thoughts:This part didn't have any grease on any of the gears. As is it didn't fix my issue with my seat memory not working, but my solution worked and now I have seat memory!I also loosened the tension screw/spring.

BUY THE FORD OEM MOTOR!!!
BUY THE FORD OEM MOTOR ASSEMBLY!!! THIS ONE IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!This motor assembly has several issues. First, the housing, as mentioned in other reviews, is not properly formed, leaving gaps where the screws mount the assembly to the mirror. When the screws are tightened down, it flexes the housing, which binds up the mirror motors. I added washers in the gaps to fix the issue, which worked, but then exposed the problem that the motors are very poor quality and are jumpy and noisy. The cup assembly, which is supposed to help the mirror move smoothly does not fit properly, causing the mirror to wobble when you hit bumps. The wide 4 pin connector slot also does not hold the factory wiring harness properly in place causing intermittent operation. I returned the motor assembly and bought a Ford OEM motor assembly which fits and works perfectly.

Did not work at first, I had to modify it
When I screwed this into place initially, it did not work. I noticed before install that the two halves were coming apart at two of the three screw locations, which I was OK with as the screw would pull the two halves shut anyhow. Well apparently, this also caused the motor to not work. I had to install washers in between the two halves to maintain a gap and still be able to screw it tight into the mirror housing. It's working for now, but I'm not sure how long this thing will last, given the jerry-rigging I had to do. Should have spent a little more money and bought the Ford OEM part. Lesson learned.

Worked for 2014 Explorer
The mirror on our car got hit and it broke the connector between the electric motor and the side rearview mirror. So far it works perfectly on our 2014 explorer and was super easy to install. Our car has heated mirrors and blind spot protection but I haven't verified that function yet. I'll report back if I run in to any issues but this one is a great value if everything checks out.

Poor assembly of the case
After installation, the mirror down mode stops working. The reason is that the set screws squeeze the housing and thus the gear is jammed and stops working.

Poor quality.
Three significant problems:1. Front and back halves don’t fit together, as other raters have stated.2. No grease on sliding parts, also as others have stated.3. Worst flaw: Too much clearance in the ball & socket joint.. The spring, which is supposed to remove any clearance, doesn’t do anything. Apparently the ball portion of the joint bottoms out before even contacting the walls of the socket. This will allow the mirror glass to vibrate. Most products by Dorman are excellent quality. This is not one of them. Will be returned.
