sturdy, easy to work, really helpful to those who need it, added boost for caregivers
GREAT for those that are mobile enough to be able to stand on their own but need an assist relocating.NOT for those that have zero strength or ability to help themselves stand/sit. They must be able to help with support of their caregiver. Different style unit for folks that needs full assist. This is for someone who can support their own weight, but need help transferring to another area or another sitting option (ie, from chair to bed, or to wheelchair). Haven't tried it for getting out of wheelchair--or in-- so I cant attest to whether it works for that. Dont see why not.Basically, have person be sitting up, get apparatus in place, have person stand up, then with aid of the seat portions, have them sit back down on it. Transfer to wherever, then reverse the process. Again, person must be able to stand up, sit down. What is nice is that when person is in standing position, they can lean into the lift aid using the knee support and arm support. So not a lot of core strength needed, just enough to be able to stand for a moment.Everything works as expected. WATCH THE VIDEO on this product page. and maybe practice with a fully abled person. Get used to how it works. It is straight forward, but the added visual will help to know exactly what to do before actually using it with someone who needs it.I have not tried any other version of this. With the small amount of time this has been used, I noticed that it turns into something where the person needs additional support, I would add in a body adjustment pad with handles. This is quite large (but not as huge as the full assist contraptions) so plan to have space about size of chair to store it.It is very sturdy feeling, gives me confidence in using it. No added frills but it will get the job done. With weight limit of 400 lbs, it will accommodate many folks.JUST KNOW that this is HEAVY upon arrival. Big box that takes some muscling. I managed it up a set of stairs and putting it together wasnt as bad as I expected. There is reference to instruction video if needed.5 stars as there are no surprises, works, sturdiness provides confidence. Will update if need be.

Still waiting on Delivery
When we get it and try it we will let you know. It was supposed to be shipped overnight. We do need something like this. Thought it would be nice to buy made in the USA. It is quite pricey. Hope it is worth it.

Great device
We got this to assist in my mother in law. She had a stroke and was in a rehab facility for a while and figured it would be helpful at home too. We delivered it to the rehab and the staff loved it as it made things easier and was better than what they had. It made getting up easier, moving her easier and getting her to the bathroom easier. Unit was pretty easy to assemble, functions well and seems durable, I’m 240 and felt safe sitting on it. The fit is semi adjustable so don’t loose the tools to adjust leg parts in case it is used for a different person. Overall very pleased with the quality and is a great value for the type of device it is.

High Quality Transporter - USA Made
This Progenix patient transporter is a premium designed to assist on mobility for users up to 400 pounds according to the maker. It’s not as common as other mobility devices but it offers certain clear advantages compared to the difficult manipulations caregivers must frequently employ to move their charges. The idea here is to provide interim mobility as a patient rehabilitates; consequently, it is appropriate only for those patients who have the strength and flexibility to lift their own body weight. Once properly positioned the patient can spend extended amounts of time in the device on the chair-like seat which pivots for good positioning. The transport unit is made primarily of steel and aluminum for durability and strength. It is heavy and unpackaging and assembly is best done by two people. The actual assembly is reasonably straightforward albeit not intuitive. A nice feature is that the unit provides hand grips and a pedal operated system for maneuvering with locking casters so it doesn’t get away when loading or unloading. Using the transport unit takes a little practice to make things fluid. The patient has to position him/herself on to the footrests, hold on to the bar in front and lift themselves into a vertical position and place legs against the knee rests before sitting. When at the destination, the swivel chair seat allows the patient to be maneuvered to make an easy disembarkation. Once you get the hang of it, it takes only seconds to open the unit and get the patient moving into it. Overall, this is a quality machine, made in the USA, that performs well and although not inexpensive, is clearly superior to lesser units on the market.

Very safe. Well constructed. Easy to assemble.
Awesome patient transfer device! The instructions were easy to follow. I was able to fully assemble this device within 20 minutes. It seems very sturdy and well constructed. I anticipate that this will last for a long time. It is easy to maneuver and easy to turn, even in tight corners like around beds and into bathrooms. The brakes work very well. No movement at all when someone is on the device. This seems very safe with someone on it. This is a VERY good device for preventing both falls and injuries (for caretakers as well).
