My husband and I have been having our own health issues as of late. We wanted to rule out toxic mold since the house is from the 80s. We live in the Midwest where summers get very hot and humid and our bathroom fans vent right into the attic so we were worried.The test instructions are easy and clear. We did an air test in 5 locations throughout the house (kitchen/living room, master bedroom, master bath, crawl space and attic) with the lids off for just under 2 hours. Put the samples in a dark closet to help with the mold growth. Ours took about 2.5 days to start seeing anything but only saw it in 3 of the 5 areas.The attached photos are from day 4.5. I emailed the photos to the company around 12:30pm and got an email back with my results less than 12 hours later. The report is detailed and puts our mind at ease as to the types of mold in the house and how we can try to manage it. The 3 that came back for us were: Penicillium viridicatum, Penicillium glaucum, Mucor and some bacteria. Definitely recommend this product and company

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I loved that it included a booklet with photos to identify the mold. You did not need to send it into a company and pay for their analysis. Besides, you could also send this company photos of the mold and they would help you identify it and how to treat it.This was really easy to set up and I was impressed that within 48 hours mold had started growing in these Petrie dishes. I could smell mildew in my house, but I couldn’t determine where it was coming from. This product helped me to pinpoint the areas of mold and that helped me not only save time but money. I would definitely buy again or recommend it to anyone I know. Great job and they got back to me very quickly to identify what the mold was when I emailed them the photos. Awesome customer service. I can’t recommend them enough.

I bought this product after noticing a persistent musty smell following a dishwasher hose break. Our situation was so similar to another reviewer's that it seemed like a sign. Even after the leak was repaired and the dishwasher was replaced, the smell remained. Within a couple of weeks I started having allergy symptoms--sneezing, watery, burning eyes, a weird little cough. I decided it was time to test for mold.The kit has simple instructions that make it very easy to use. I followed the steps and in a few days was appalled at all of the mold growth in every single dish I'd set out. Yuck! We took photos and sent them off for help in identifying the various strains. We received a detailed report within 24 hours.I now know what steps to take to handle this. I'm very thankful that I was able to easily identify the problem so I know what to do. Found mold in our truck that had been sitting in driveway unused for a couple of years. Purchased kit in attempt to figure out if any of the mold was toxic black mold (which would have been extremely costly to remove). Kit Instructions were clear and it was easy to use. I swabbed 4 different places in the truck (each sample in a different Petri dish). 4 days later, had good mold growth. Compared pictures in instruction booklet to my samples and was fairly certain none were toxic black mold. Just to be sure, took photos of samples and emailed to company for them to double check. Within hours, they replied with very complete report of each of my samples (no black mold that they could see). In conclusion, very satisfied! Process was easy and customer service was amazing!
