Works great!
This product was amazing! I read all the reviews before purchasing. We had a car that sat unworking/idle for a lengthy time and became mouse infested. We restarted it for my son and had a mechanic bring it back to life. We did a robust clean out, then took it to a detailer for the major clean but despite all that it had a slight lingering odor. Next step: this car bomb! It smells great now! neutralizes the malodors as described. We put a cardboard box under it and laid a towel on the backseat before activating as recommended in the comments. There was not a lot of foam or overspray but we left it overnight and it did the trick! Great product! Highly Recommended

This stuff works! Got rid of the smell of mildew!
My A/C drain clogged and water got on my passenger floor soaking the carpet. I had the carpet sanitizing but could not get rid of the mildew smell. This stuff got rid of the mildew smell with one can. I could not believe it, nor could I be happier!

Don't bother
Would not recommend unless your car has an old dirty sneaker odor you need to mask. You would be far better off to eliminate the odor source and steam clean your interior than to use this auto bomb. In my case my Saab still had the new car smell (I keep the car clean, and every couple of weeks clean the interior with just a damp rag) but I was getting a mildewy odor. I had checked the A/C filter (it was clean), I disinfected the A/C evaporator, and I even steam cleaned the carpeted parts of the interior (which unfortunately took a much of the new car smell out). After that did not eliminate the odor, I investigated further; it turned out the cause of the odor was leaves trapped in the cowl intake drain. When I cleaned the drain out and disinfected it, the mildew odor was finally completely eliminated.I had also purchased the "Auto Shocker" (formerly known as "Auto Vaccine") but ended up not having to use that in my car. I instead used it in the changing room in my office, and that worked extremely well. I will be using the remaining "auto shocker" in my parents' car when I visit, because her car smells like an ashtray.I did try the Odor Bomb Car Odor Eliminator in a closet at my office when it arrived; if it actually smelled like a new car I would have used it sparingly in my Saab, but it doesn't smell like a new car. It doesn't smell like new carpet, and it certainly doesn't smell like new leather or even new PVC. It smells strange, like maybe a cheap Sterilite plastic bin.If you want the new car smell back in your car, first eliminate the odor source; disinfect your HVAC, clean the interior, do not let people eat in your car, don't transport prepared foods in your car unless you have a sealed container, and then consider having the carpet in your car replaced, and new (original-style) seat upholstery if your car has cloth or vinyl seats. It will be costly but it is the only way to get the new car smell back in your car.The Odor Bomb Odor Eliminator is a waste of money. I bought three and will just end up throwing them away.

Amazing!!!
So…my wife of 42 years wanted steak and lobster for Mother’s Day. I bought several 1-1/2” thick ribeyes and fresh lobster tails at the local market to grill at my son’s house so we could make it a family affair. At the end of the night we had a couple steaks and one lobster tail left over. Fast forward 2 weeks through a heat wave in Las Vegas. My Jeep had sat since the night of the BBQ. I decided to make a run to the store and when I opened the drivers side door I was about knocked unconscious from a horrendous stench inside the Jeep. After a short search for the source of the smell, I located an upside down, half open zip lock bag containing a single lobster tail wedged between the passenger seatbelt clip and the center console. The juices had run down the console and saturated the carpet under the seat. I removed the baggie and cleaned up the mess. I used a popular deodorizer/disinfectant spray on the entire interior of the Jeep with no success. Even tried a name brand freshener bomb with the same result. Neither could not even put a dent in the smell. I found and ordered Dakota Oder Bomb after a short Amazon search. As soon as the delivery driver dropped it at my front door, I immediately read the instructions, placed it in the cup holder of the console and let it do its thing. I let the Jeep sit with the windows up for 24 hours before I opened the doors to see if it worked. The smell was gone!!! The only mistake I made was not turning on the AC to let it circulate through the AC ducting and vents. The only time I smell any remnants of the lobster is when I turn on the AC. The Oder Bomb instructions say to turn off the AC and heat before the bomb is activated. I believe the instructions are written for using it in a house or building. If using it for an automobile, I would recommend to turn on the engine with the AC on and in the recirculate mode so no outside air is sucked into the car. Let it run for 10-15 minutes after the can had emptied its contents, then shut it off, close the door and let the car sit for a while; the length depends on how bad the Oder is.

Smells much better!
Super easy to set off. But beware it spits quite a distance and it advises to place a towel under can which we did but still had some clean up. Took the smell out of the car

Not the best but good
Smells ok, a bit chemical. While spraying some kind of foam is being splashed to the car’s interior
